After rinsing it thoroughly, you can leave it to dry and keep it in a cool, dry place before using it again. The contraceptive diaphragm is reusable for up to 2 years.
Yes, all diaphragms should be used with spermicide. You’ll need to add more spermicide if the diaphragm has been in place for more than 3 hours before you have sex.
Yes, diaphragms come in different sizes and you must be fitted for the correct size by a doctor or nurse. You can get this done at your GP surgery or a sexual health clinic. If you have a baby, miscarriage or abortion, or if you gain or lose more than 3kg (7lb) you may need to be fitted with a new one.
