Pros

    Doesn't affect your periods.

      Does not temporarily effect your fertility so you can stop using and try for a baby at any time.

        It is hormone free and does not involve chemicals or physical products.

          It can be used when breastfeeding.

            There are no side effects as no hormones, chemicals or devices are being used.

              Cons

                Using the withdrawal method can take practice.

                  Requires extreme self-control and body awareness from the partner, making it difficult to do it perfectly every time.

                    It can be much less effective than hormone, chemical or barrier methods.

                      Needs to be used every time you have sex.

                        Pulling out before ejaculation can interrupt sex.

                          Does not protect against HIV infection (AIDS) and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

                            Needs to be performed by your partner.

                              Using the withdrawal method can take practice.
